A Hundert Un Tzvantzik

"Great art picks up where nature ends."
-- Marc Chagall
Yesterday was Marc Chagall's 121st birthday. A true legend and a pioneer.

I believe that Stereo Sinai and other Jewish artists today would not exist as we know them, were it not for Moishe Shagal. His pioneering work, deeply ingrained in his heritage at a time when it was not, shall we say, the popular thing to do, is proudly displayed in museums by the works of other masters. Think for a moment about how revolutionary that is! I teaches me that good art is good art regardless of its theme, and motivates me to strive for perfection in my own work as a Jewish musician.

So Happy Birthday, Mr. Chagall. For an immortal, 121 is just a drop in the bucket.
