In case you haven't already read our manifesto on why Stereo Sinai doesn't mass produce CDs, there are several very good reasons. One of those reasons has to do with our ability to control the sound quality of our own music. We simply think we should be able to.

To paraphrase something a respected producer I met once told me, "Some day someone will write and record the perfect song, but no one will be able to tell. All you'll be able to hear is 'KHCHHHHCHCHHHHCH' [static]". When it comes to mastering our music, we want to make sure that you'll be downloading the best possible MP3 quality, which is why we create our own "High-Fidelity MP3s." I guess that makes us conscientious objectors in the Loudness War.
